WOODSTOCK — Cathy Miller of Emeritus at Woodstock was selected as a runner-up in the 2013 Caring Champions contest, a national competition of professional caregivers nominated by their employers for going above and beyond the call of duty in caring for seniors.

There were more than 80 nominations, and winners were selected from a mix of more than 5,000 social votes and analysis by an expert panel.

An ever-present fixture at the front desk of Emeritus, Miller is "the go-to person for any question that might be asked," according to her nomination. Kimberly Taylor, supervisor/employer, nominated Miller for the honor.

Residents and their families rave about her cheerful, helpful demeanor, and she succeeds in making people feel at ease. She personally delivers mail to the residents every day, helps them in calling their families, and leads a daily exercise program for residents, said a release about the honoree.
