Cherokee Co. electronics recycling day set for Sat.

CANTON — Cherokee County is having its annual Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cherokee County Administrative Building at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

Items accepted at no charge include personal computers, laptops, modems, floppy/disk drives, printers, UPS batteries, CD-ROMs, fax machines, cellphones, circuit boards, copiers, phones, P.C. power supplies, stereos/VCR/CD-players, scanners, keyboards, typewriters, microwaves and more.

There is a $10 charge for televisions and a $5 fee for CRT Monitors.

Items not accepted include console/projection televisions, car batteries, washers and dryers, refrigerators, tires, household trash and ovens.

Those who attend are asked to remain in their cars and let volunteers take all equipment from the vehicle.

Also, equipment should be removed from boxes and cables should be removed from each device.

All cables may be placed in a bag for drop off that day. Call (770) 426-1700 for more information.
