William “Bill” F. Garrett, 98 of Canton, GA passed away Monday July 2, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 5, from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Mulkey, Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Doug Couch. Interment will follow in the Hickory Flat Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Survivors include sisters, Ruth Nichols, Montgomery, AL; Betty and Buren Manous, Canton, GA; special caregivers, Vickey Johnson, Mary Blanton, Heddie Vernon and Lynn Chester; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Carmichael Garrett; parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Garrett; brothers, Lloyd Garrett, Jesse Garrett; sisters, Lucille Haley, Margaret Garrett, Florence Clark. The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Hickory Flat Cemetery Fund, c/o Ruben Wilson, 116 Royal Oak Dr, Canton, GA 30115 or the Mt.
