The Macon Telegraph reports that U.S. District Court Judge Marc Treadwell also limited some of the daughter's civil rights claims in the lawsuit filed last year. Treadwell left standing the suit's core, which seeks monetary damages and asks the court to require that the school system adopt new safeguards against sexual predators.
The case stems from allegations that several Northeast High School students raped and sodomized a 16-year-old female student in a bathroom. The suit cites previous assaults on Macon campuses as evidence of negligence.
Pretrial motions are ongoing. No trial has been scheduled.
