Legislators should not accept gifts

You won’t see this phrase mentioned in all the foot shuffling meaningless debate under the Gold Dome on so-called ethics reform. It’s simple — most of our elected officials are on the take from the countless influence peddlers in our state.

I would like to suggest that all our elected officials and their tax-paid staff simply not accept any gifts of any kind from anybody while in office — period.

That would not only be ethical, it would be honest.
