The “Dancing for the Children” celebrity dance challenge and 47th Annual Service League Ball is scheduled for Saturday at the Marriott on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta.

Although the Service League of Cherokee County annual fundraiser is sold out, it’s not too late to cast a vote and help choose the winner from among the local celebrity dancers participating.

The public can now vote online for their favorite dancers through Razoo.com. Votes cost $1 per vote with a $10 minimum and count exactly like the audience votes that will be cast Saturday night.

The popular vote from both the Internet and the audience will be weighted into the final score and will influence who wins the competition, along with the judges’ scores.

“This is a new measure we have taken this year in order to get the general public more involved, even if they are not able to attend in person,” said April Turner, chairperson of the event. “It is working out beautifully because extended friends, family, co-workers, clients can go online and easily vote for their favorite dancer.”

The public can visit www.ServiceLeague.net for the voting link.

Celebrity dancers this year include state Sen. Brandon Beach (R-Alpharetta), Misti Martin, Mitzi Saxon, the Rev. Jim McRae, Vaughn Williams, Dr. Miles Mazzawi Trey Olson, and Dr. Angie Falany.

Judges are Mayor Donnie Henriques of Woodstock; celebrity judge Sarah Parrott, a fashion designer and season one contestant on NBC’s Fashion Star; dance director and acclaimed choreographer, Danielle Mason Hosker of Dancefx; and 2012 Dancing for the Children winner, Michelle Bowden.

Emcee will be Jamie Bendall, of the Punchline Comedy Club.

The evening will be marked by a star-studded line-up, featuring legendary UGA football coach Vince Dooley as the guest of honor.

Money raised from ticket purchases, sponsorships and donations to this event will be used to meet the needs of the children of Cherokee County, providing necessities such as medical care, dental and vision care, clothing, scholarships, camps, and more.
