A Canton pet food store is joining others across the metro area to raise funds to help pet rescue efforts.

The Red Bandanna Pet Food store in Hickory Flat Commons is participating in a promotion this month dubbed “Round Up for Rescues.”

All 13 local, metro Atlanta-area Red Bandanna Pet Food stores are participating in August by asking customers to “round up” the total of their bill to the next whole dollar amount.

Customers can participate with cash, checks or credit/debit cards, and the difference between the actual total and the rounded-up amount will raise funds for the Angels Among Us Pet Rescue during August.

Red Bandanna is hoping to be able to donate $3,000 to Angels Among Us through this event.

“We already knew we had the best customers in the world, but you guys are amazing. So far this month, you have helped us raise over $1,100 for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue by rounding up your purchases. Red Bandanna reminds you to round up at the register all August,” said Dylan Yellowlees, social marketing manager for Red Bandanna.

Angels Among Us Pet Rescue Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in north Georgia.

The organization operates through a network of foster homes in the north metro Atlanta area. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue’s efforts are funded by tax-deductible contributions from people and organizations.

Red Bandanna Pet Food is a local chain of one-stop shops providing pet food, supplements, treats, chews, shampoos, accessories and toys for dogs and cats.

Several of the stores also feature self-wash grooming stations and treats from Rusty’s Bakery, homemade by Chef Tisha Garcia.

Rusty’s Bakery offers handcrafted, all-natural pet treats or “paw-stries.” Though the confections are only cooked at the Roswell location and then distributed to the other stores, future plans include additional store build-outs as well as a bakery at the corporate office of Red Bandanna, also located in Roswell.

The Canton Red Bandanna is at 6764 Hickory Flat Highway, Suite 110, in Canton.
