Rechsteiner leads Etowah honorees

In his first start at cornerback, Etowah’s Bronson Rechsteiner intercepted two passes against Milton.

Rechsteiner’s breakout game was enough for him to be named the Eagles’ Defensive Player of the Week by the Cherokee County Gridirion Club.

Also honored from Etowah were Raishod Devezin, who rushed for more than 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and special teamer Noah Dye.

Cherokee’s Blace Brown received his team’s offensive player award after catching 14 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns, while Michael Bean with 18 tackles took home defensive honors. Andrew Harris was honored on special teams.

Woodstock was recognized by Senate Robinson (offense) and Jerrail McMickens (defense).

For Creekview, Chandler Wold (offense), Walter Grogan (defense) and Connor Dulmage (special teams) earned the weekly awards for their performances in

the Grizzlies’ win over Sequoyah.

The players recognized from Sequoyah were Jake Garner (offense), Peter Rohan (defense) and Mason Tucker (special teams).
