The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying two men captured on video surveillance footage allegedly burglarizing the West Market at 9411 Hickory Flat Highway in Woodstock.

The burglary took place Monday at about 12:15 a.m., detectives said.

One of the suspects in the video can been seen talking on a phone or “walkie-talkie” during the incident, leading investigators to believe at least one more person was involved and served as a lookout, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

After disabling the alarm and outdoor security cameras, the suspects gained entry into the business by removing the plexiglass from the front door, the release said.

A safe containing a large undisclosed amount of cash and 250 cartons of cigarettes valued at about $11,250 were taken during the burglary, according to Lt. Jay Baker, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Investigators said the suspects’ faces were covered by sheer stockings, but if anyone is able to recognize the men, saw anything unusual around the business that morning or has any information about the incident, contact detectives at (770) 928-0239.
