Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services and the Canton Fire Department responded to the accident about 4:45 p.m., near the intersection of Knox Bridge Highway, Cherokee County Fire Chief Tim Cavender said Thursday in a release.
Upon arriving at the accident, the emergency workers discovered a 35-year-old man trapped in one of the vehicles. The three-vehicle wreck was between a Dodge Neon, a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Toyota SUV, Cavender said.
The trapped man, who was in the Neon, had to be cut out with the “jaws of life,” Cavender said.
He and the driver, a 25-year-old man, were sent by ambulance to WellStar Kennstone Hospital after complaining of head and neck injuries.
The drivers of the Tahoe, a 37-year-old woman, and the Toyota, a 23-year-old woman were not injured, according to the release.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Cavender said.
