John Manuel Vera, age 62 of Woodstock, GA, formerly of Holland MI, died June 21, 2010. Mr. Vera was born in Austin, Texas to the late Mike G. and Marcia G. Vera. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Vera of Woodstock, GA; daughters, Maggie Vera and Maria Vera, both of Woodstock, GA; son, Mike Vera of Woodstock, GA; sisters, Yolanda Ortega of San Antonio, TX, Mary Linda Medellin of Ringgold, GA, Minerva Stassek of Bloomingdale, MI and Carol Beverwyck of Bloomingdale, MI; brothers, Raymond Hernandez, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Mike Vera, Larry Vera and Carlos Vera all of Holland, MI; grandchild, Alana Vera; several nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Magdelena M. Vera Account, Georgia Transplant Foundation, 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 600 Embassy Row, Suite 250, Atlanta, GA 30328.
