John Bevilaqua said 53 bikers participated and contributed several charitable donations to the Shop with a Hero program, which is designed to aid Woodstock families during the holidays by providing a gift-shopping trip with a police officer during the holiday season.
“It was great to see such a big turnout” said Sgt. Shane Collie, supervisor of the department’s Special Operations Group. “This was an opportunity to combine two of my passions, motorcycle riding and giving the gift of Christmas to children. We all had a good time riding while raising money for a great cause.”
The ride began at 11 a.m. from the Wal-Mart parking lot on Highway 92 and Trickum Road and traveled throughout Cherokee County. An hour and a half later, riders gathered at Guston’s Grille on Highway 92.
