Government offices will be closed for holiday

CANTON — Cherokee County city, county, state and federal offices all will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day.

Cherokee Area Transportation System buses and shuttles will not run on Monday.

The Cherokee County Recycling Center will also be closed on Saturday, as will the Department of Driver Services Customer Service Center in Canton.

Cherokee County School District schools and offices will be closed on Monday, as will Reinhardt University in Waleska, including the Funk Heritage Center, and Chattahoochee Technical College in Woodstock.

All banks and financial institutions will be closed, as will all U.S. Post Office branches. Express Mail will be delivered.

All Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will be closed on Monday, as well as the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and most business offices.

The Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority board meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday at 9 a.m. and the Development Authority of Cherokee County will not meet on Monday.
