CANTON - Those along Highway 140 from Shoal Creek Road to Belletta Drive are no longer being urged to boil water. The advisory was lifted Friday afternoon. According to a notice from the city of Canton, a water main break on Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. and subsequent repair caused water pressure in parts of the water system "to drop to dangerously low levels," and residents in the corridor along Highway 140 were told to boil water because of a safety concern. The stretch of roadway remains closed for repairs. Camille Wehs with the city of Canton said the road will reopen Monday.
