U.S. Magistrate Judge Arnold Rappaport ruled Thursday that Craig Christy and his son, Shawn Christy, will be held and sent to the state where Palin resides, a day after they were indicted by a federal grand jury in Alaska.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Gallagher argued for their detention, saying “There’s a level of obsession here that elevates the conduct from merely creepy to truly threatening.” Lawyers for the father and son said they should’ve been allowed to remain free and report to Alaska themselves.
Rappaport declined, adding that the men may not have done so and that they posed a threat to the community.
