Jorelys Rivera's funeral planned for Saturday

CANTON — Funeral arrangements have been planned for 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera.

A public viewing will be held at 5 p.m. Friday at Darby Funeral Home in downtown Canton. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Canton.

Pastor Salvador Gonzalez will officiate the service.

Media is not allowed inside for the viewing or the service.

Cherokee County Coroner Earl Darby said Jorelys’ body will be flown from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Puerto Rico, where burial will take place after a private family ceremony.

Survivors include mother Joseline Rivera of Canton; father Richardo Galarza of Puerto Rico; sisters Yesiannie Marie Turrev Rivera and Joseline Rivera Ruiz, both of Canton; grandparents Wanda Ivette Ruiz and Blas Juniors, both of Puerto Rico.
