Several years ago, I had the opportunity to stand on the rim of the Grand Canyon. I had seen pictures my whole life, but there was nothing to compare with the experience.

This was awesome!

I have also been on hand for the landing of the C5-A. This was an aircraft that could load up my entire neighborhood, along with their stuff, still have room left for a movie star's ego and take off and fly.

This was awesome!

A baby's first breath is awesome, as is the National Anthem with a flyover at the ball game.

The first time I had the honor to experience the brilliance and dedication of the people at St. Jude Children's Hospital, it took my breath away...it was, and is to this day, awesome!

I say all of this to point out out that the tattoo you got at the mall last week is not awesome.

The latest trendy modern art is not awesome. Awesome never has to be explained.

Lite beer, by it's very nature cannot be awesome. Regardless of what the advertisements say, Awesome is never watered down.

Words have meaning. I invite you to look up the word "awesome," and then count how many times in a day you hear it misused.
