Offices, businesses closing for July 4th holiday

CANTON — Several local businesses and government offices will close shop Wednesday in honor of the Fourth of July holiday.

The Cherokee County School District offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday. School district staff will take two furlough days without pay on Thursday and Friday.

All libraries within the Sequoyah Regional Library System will be closed Wednesday for Independence Day.

Banks across the county, including local banks such as Cherokee Bank and United Community Bank will also be closed for business.

All Cherokee County government offices as well as the cities of Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs, Ball Ground and Waleska will be closed. The Cherokee Chamber of Commerce offices will also be closed.

The Board of Commissioners regular meeting on July 5 has been rescheduled to July 10.

The Tribune office will be closed Wednesday.
