Each year the bank dedicates proceeds from an annual golf tournament at Woodmont Golf Club to A DAY, which helps to fund a grant program for Cherokee County students at the University.
The bank has been donating to Reinhardt since the A DAY program’s inception in 1988.
“We are thrilled to be a financial partner with Reinhardt through our annual golf outings,” said Rick Kononen, First Cherokee State Bank president. “One of our missions as a community bank is to give back to the community and support local institutions, and we always enjoy following the careers and success of local Reinhardt graduates.”
The A DAY for Reinhardt campaign is an annual effort to provide support for Cherokee County students attending Reinhardt University.
A DAY helps to fund the University’s Cherokee County Grant Program. This grant gives eligible students the opportunity to receive as much as $8,000 during their four years at the university.
Since A DAY’s inception, more than $3 million in Cherokee County grants have been awarded to local deserving students. For more information about A DAY, visit www.rein hardt.edu/advancement
“First Cherokee State Bank is committed to their home community,” said Dr. J. Thomas Isherwood, Reinhardt’s president. “Their support of Reinhardt University over the years has enabled numerous ‘hometown’ students to pursue their dream of attending Reinhardt. We appreciate their support and their giving spirit.”
