Wednesday evening the Republican Women of Cherokee County hosted an unprecedented full Republican Candidate debate at the Northside Cherokee County Conference Center.
The packed house of 200 voters heard from 28 candidates from local commissioners to congressional candidates. The organization pulled together candidates from many contested races and did an outstanding professional job!
The efforts to help the candidates get the word out and to be inclusive of all candidates running is always a challenge but the Republican Women accomplished a very informative evening for all who attended.
The event was moderated by RWCC President Lori Pesta.
The event agenda also included discussions about the ballot referendums which voters need to be familiar with before voting July 31. RWCC member Terrie Green shared information about the gambling referendum and the right to life referendum. The TSPLOST was the last item on the agenda and tea party leader Conrad Quagliaroli shared his passion for a "NO" vote on the TSPLOST.
Majority Leader Chip Rogers attended, however needed to depart early. Brandon Beach, Sheriff Roger Garrison, Rep. Sean Jurgeson, John Carson, Brian Poole, Rep. Charlice Byrd, Janet Read and Congressman Phil Gingrey were not available for questions.
The Republican Women headquarters is located at 9910 Hwy 92 in Woodstock. The RW Headquarters office will be transformed into "Romney Headquarters for Cherokee County" mid August. Yard signs and bumpers stickers will be available for Romney supporters.
