CANTON — Cherokee County Sheriff’s detectives are asking the public for assistance in identifying a burglary suspect who broke into the Rainbow Asia restaurant at 3725 Sixes Road at approximately 10 a.m. Monday.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, said the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, personal checks written to the restaurant, a Kindle Fire and an iPod Touch from the business.

Owners told investigators they found the rear door of the business open when they arrived at the restaurant on Monday, just moments after security cameras captured the suspect’s image on video.

In the video, the suspect can be seen holding a flashlight in his mouth while putting items into his satchel. He is wearing a tan Nike hat, glasses and white gloves.

Baker said anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information about the burglary is asked to contact investigators at (770) 928-0239.
