Terry Ross of Ross Berry Farm & Apiary and Shirley Pahl of the Cherokee County Farm Bureau at the Cherokee Pie Challenge and Farmers Market.
The challenge was sponsored by the Cherokee County Farm Bureau at local farmers markets throughout the county and climaxed with the countywide cookoff for all the winners. Greg Cornelius took first place in the Adult Division and Best Overall Pie with his Uber Guber Pie. Laura Baker took first place in the Youth Division with her blueberry lime pie. First Place Pro went to Lisa Harris for her lemon pie and First Place Senior went to Candace Colby. Fan Favorite Pie went to Melanie Coulter for blue ribbon apple pie.
Gifts and prizes valued at more than $300 were awarded to the pie winners and contestants, including gift cards from Salud School of Cooking at Harry’s Farmers Market Alpharetta, Family Traditions, Corner Cafe, Subway and Cheesecake Factory.
