A 58-year-old woman was flown to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries Friday after her vehicle, above, collided with a tractor trailer, Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office said.

Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded to the wreck on East Cherokee Drive near Creekside Way in Ball Ground at approximately 7 a.m.
Mary Corridori, 58, was injured when her convertible hit a tractor-trailer travelling in the other direction.
“It appears Corridori’s vehicle crossed the center line while she was negotiating a curve before colliding with the tractor trailer,” Baker said.
Corridori was flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.
Baker said the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, because Corridori’s vehicle hit the trailer portion of the vehicle.
Both lanes of East Cherokee Drive were shut down for approximately two hours while public safety members investigated the accident and cleared the roadway, Baker said.
