A new plan for managing the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin has been delayed by years of legal fighting. A decision by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has allowed the process to go forward.
The public can comment through Dec. 12 on elements of the plan.
The executive director of Atlanta-based Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Sally Bethea, told The Times of Gainesville that her group will ask that water conservation and efficiency become a priority.
Joanna Cloud of the Lake Lanier Association said her organization will ask that Atlanta get credit for existing conservation efforts.
