Lynne and I arrived at our Early Voting location in downtown Canton at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The good news is the voters in line to vote spilled out of the lobby, down the sidewalk, all the way to the street corner.
America is voting.
Our location was highly organized and moving forward smoothly. A gentleman was passing out the required registration data forms, on clipboards with a pen, all the way to the end of the line.
A pleasant polls official was directing voters as we reached the lobby to the four manned check-in windows.
The ID check and registration check was very quick.
Another smiling polls official promptly took our OK’d form, handed us our voter machine card and there was no wait to get to a voting machine because there were ample machines to handle the crowds.
Lynne and I had previewed the online sample ballot and knew who and what we were going to vote for. We handed another very pleasant official our machine card and he gave me my Georgia voter sticker.
We were heading to our car after only 15 minutes.
We can only hope your voting experience will be as well handled as ours. We were inspired to see the crowds heading to the polls, cheerfully waiting to cast their highly cherished right to vote and exercising it.
We were smiling proudly as we passed the many voters coming as we left.
This is America in action.
As my dear activist aunt that raised me always said “Pray informed votes are being cast.”
That’s our prayer!
