That’s set to happen Wednesday.
The 41-year-old Roberts faces lethal injection in Huntsville for the slaying of 44-year-old Vicki Bowen. A co-worker who became concerned after the dental assistant failed to show up for work discovered her body at Bowen’s home near Lake Livingston in Polk County. Roberts also confessed to another unsolved homicide in Louisiana committed 12 years earlier.
Evidence showed Roberts fled a Louisiana drug treatment program. He’d already been convicted of a robbery in Baton Rouge.
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to review his case.
