The holiday shopping expo put on by the Cherokee Chamber of Commerce is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and admission is free.
“The goal of the event is to keep local dollars local,” said Gini Mizelle, events coordinator for the Chamber. “The conference center will be transformed into the Jingle Bell $hop — a one-stop shopping extravaganza of beautiful and distinctive gifts.”
This year’s event is presented by Bank of North Georgia and is in partnership with the Cherokee County Conference Center, Cherokee County, WLJA 101.1 FM, O’Brien Productions and the Cherokee Tribune.
Vendors will be present with an array of gifts and craft items at the shopping expo.
“You will be able to visit with Santa, and find special gifts for everyone on your Christmas list without crossing the county line,” Mizelle said.
LGE Community Credit Union is the “Santa Sponsor” and will have a photographer on-site to take a complimentary photo with Santa. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own cameras to take photos, she said.
Cobb EMC is sponsoring the “Sweet Shop”, where visitors can purchase sweets to enjoy while shopping.
Express Impressions is providing free shopping bags at the event.
Chick-fil-A Canton will be on-site selling lunch, and the Conference Center Taster event will be from 5 to 8 p.m.
Several school groups are planning to sing during the event including those from Creekland Middle, Mill Creek Middle, Teasley Middle, Mountain Road Elementary, Knox Elementary, Cherokee High School, Bascomb Elementary and Hasty Elementary.
Vendors include: AAA — which will offer memberships, ornaments, and local attractions, Azure Salon and Spa, Botanicals by Sandy — which has pressed framed botanicals, Cameron Hall Assisted Living Center — offering cookbooks and cooking hot pads, Cherokee County Farm Bureau, Inc. — which will have honey, bees wax candles, gourmet cooking oil gift sets, hand-painted gourds, horseshoe art and cookbooks, Cherokee County Historical Society — with local history books and Christmas ornaments, Harvest Hardware — with hardware inspired hand-stamped jewelry, and Hickory Flat Handmade Soaps — with scrubs, bath salts, and lotions.
Along with those vendors, there are a number of others that will be included, such as: Key’s Jewelry, Lathemtown Pottery, Author Margie Carroll — with children’s nature storybooks, Merrilily Gardens — with jams and jellies and gourmet foods, Old School Apparel Company — with vintage T-shirts and hats, Savvy Fashions — with handbags, jewelry and backpacks, Scentsy Wickless Candles and The Pampered Chef — with kitchen tools and equipment.
Thirty-One Gifts will have organizing and spirit totes as well as purses, What A Girl Wants will have ornament and Christmas décor — as well as wine glasses, clothing and gift ideas — and Yawn’s Books & More, Inc. features “Elf on a Shelf,” bookmarks and books.
