The annual meeting invites all attendees to present plans and initiatives they may have for legislative actions in the General Assembly’s upcoming legislative session.
Both meetings will take place at Cherokee County Administrative Building at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.
The conference with local elected officials and authority directors will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m., while the public town hall will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Legislators will first present a brief presentation and then hear from the audience regarding their interests and priorities for the 2013 legislative session.
State House and Senate members of the Cherokee County legislative delegation will be in attendance, including Rep. Calvin Hill (R-Hickory Flat), Rep. Sean Jerguson (R-Holly Springs), Rep. John Carson (R-Marietta), Rep.-elect Michael Caldwell (R-Woodstock), Rep.-elect Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton), Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock), Sen. Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville) and Sen. John Albers (R-Roswell).
The tentative agenda for meetings with local officials is as follows: Cherokee County Commissioners from 2:30 to 3 p.m., city of Holly Springs from 3 to 3:20 p.m, city of Waleska from 3:20 to 3:40 p.m., city of Nelson from 3:40 to 4 p.m., Board of Elections from 4 to 4:20 p.m. and city of Woodstock 4:20 to 4:40 p.m.
Additionally, the delegation may hold a brief business meeting to elect officers and adopt rules for the upcoming session.
