The Board of Commissioners will consider approval to hire McClendon & Associates to perform a forensic audit related to the Ball Ground Recycling/Bobo Project in an amount not to exceed $75,000, according to the board’s agenda.
The board will also consider approval of three vehicles and two enclosed bed units for the Cherokee County Marshal’s Office. The total cost is estimated at $83,000, which will come from SPLOST funds if the commission approves the purchase.
Commissioners are set to discuss upcoming vacancies on the county’s planning commission. The commission will also discuss recommendations for appointments to the Cherokee County Development Authority and the Development Authority of Cherokee County.
The commission will consider two contracts for the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. The first is a one-year maintenance contract wit the option for a second year with Aqua Design Systems.
The cost listed in the agenda is $50,000 for the first year and $52,000 for the second year. The second is a one-year $18,000 contract with Shumate Mechanical with a second-year cost of $18,000.
Commissioners will consider approving the purchase of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather radio all-hazard receivers from the low bidder, Alert Works, Ltd. The cost of the radios is not to exceed $23 per radio, for a total cost not to exceed $11,500 for 500 radios.
Additionally, the commission will consider amending the county code relating to the regulation of dangerous dogs. The commission discussed the ordinance and conducted a public hearing on the proposed changes at the Nov. 19 meeting.
During the work session preceding the voting meeting, commissioners will hear a report from Misti Martin of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development and will discuss the above agenda items.
