Sometimes when I read columnist Donald Conkey’s wise words in the Tribune I feel he is a voice crying in the wilderness — but not on youth in the church today.
Our church in Lathemtown is blessed in many ways. We have a pastor who is a minister to our flock and not just a preacher.
We have a choir who sings from the heart each week. We have a youth ministries leader who is involving our young people in home and foreign missions with hands-on service.
On Youth Day we saw these dedicated Christian young people in action — what a blessing for our church, our community, our country and beyond.
The women of the church provide meals on wheels to our community. They also pitch in to help families down on their luck. Our church sponsors and supports a far-reaching Boy Scout program, which inspires boys and girls and their families throughout the community.
We believe our young people of today are the messages we send to a time we will not see.
This is the future of America. God continue to bless America.
