Alan, who recently sold out the Holly Theater in Dahlonega, is presenting his holiday show with music, magic and comedy, the “Magic Tree,” at 8 p.m.
“This show has a little bit of a holiday theme, based on the story of the Magic Tree, and it is a two-hour, sit on the edge of your seat, feel-good show,” Alan said.
Alan, who has performed magic for the last 30 years, said he is the only magician who invites every kid in the audience on stage at some point during the performance.
“Someone is on stage with me throughout the show,” Alan said. He also said the show is a camera-friendly event.
“I do two things no other magician in the world does, I work with small unusual props and I take magic from the 1940s and ’50s and bring it back to life. It is a very unusual show and a whole lot of fun —two hours of fun.”
His magical performances include shows as far north as Canada and south to Key West.
Alan has also donated countless hours of his time and talent over the years performing for children with serious illnesses and special needs as well as helping various organizations solicit funds all over the country.
His show list includes comedy clubs, resorts, hotels, casino cruise ships, theaters, fairs and outdoor events.
The Boston Herald called his magic “astonishing and creative” and the Florida Times wrote “Russ Alan performs his magic with an amazing amount of energy.”
Tickets are available at the theatre in downtown Canton and are $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and children 12 and under.
