For residents who need to take care of any government business in Cherokee County before the holidays, it’s best to get it done today. Many government offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday in observance of Christmas.

Cherokee County offices will be closed Monday through Wednesday.

City offices in Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs and Waleska will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Ball Ground city offices will be open until noon Monday and closed Tuesday.

Nelson City Hall will be closed from today through Jan. 2.

Local Cherokee Area Transportation Service buses will not run Monday through Wednesday. Express commuter buses will not run Monday or Tuesday.

Waste Management trash pickup will not run on Christmas Day. Pickups will be delayed one day through Dec. 29.

Sequoyah Regional Library System branches will be closed Sunday through Wednesday.

Banks will be closed Christmas Day, with some facilities closing early on Christmas Eve.

Post offices will close at noon Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day.
