WALESKA — February might be cold outside, but the performances will be hot at Reinhardt University’s Falany Performing Arts Center at three upcoming performances.

For those looking for a stirring love story, the Peach State Opera will perform Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” at the Performing Arts Center on Feb. 10 at 3 p.m.

This heart-wrenching story of a beautiful geisha girl and her American naval lieutenant never grows old.

The powerful music to convey the unwavering love of the young Japanese bride as she waits for the return of her husband is sure to impress.

The clash of cultures, faith and the ultimate betrayal inspire this story. Enjoy some of opera’s most remarkable and beautiful music.

The Falany Performing Arts Center is delighted to host the Peach State Opera as they bring this powerful story to life.

As proven through their Opera Workshop, held during the summer of 2012, the Peach State Opera’s talented artists always produce a wonderful show.

Prices for tickets are $35 for adults, and $30 for seniors 55 and older and children 12 and younger.

Caribbean Sound will perform at the Performing Arts Center on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

From traditional Calypso to contemporary classics and original compositions, the group has shared the wonderful sound of the steel pan with audiences across the nation.

Caribbean Sound has toured the U.S. since 1986, bringing the members of the group’s fantastic talents to colleges and universities, arts centers, symphony orchestras, outdoor summer concerts and educational programs.

Caribbean Sound has appeared with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

New to the stage at the Falany Performing Arts Center, this steel pan group is sure to please guests as the acoustics in the hall help to enhance the experience.

The one-of-a-kind ensemble provides an opportunity to cross cultural barriers and discover the amazing influences from around the world that came together to create the steel pan.

A wonderful family show, this group often has the audience dancing in the aisles, or isles as the case may be.
