City Manager Jeff Moon said Jessica Guinn, who serves as the vice president for The Collaborative Firm LLC, will begin her new role, Feb. 11.
“We are certainly excited to have Jessica coming on board with Woodstock,” Moon said in a Wednesday release. “Her experience in both the public and private sectors has given her the valuable opportunity to be involved with multiple jurisdictions across the metro Atlanta area,” Moon added.
Guinn, a Cobb County native, served in her previous job since March 2007. Established in 2001, the Atlanta-based Collaborative Firm offers its clients an array of expertise in urban planning, program management, engineering support and architectural services.
Prior to that, Guinn served as a planner with Henry County.
She also received the American Institute for Certified Planners designation from the American Planning Association. AICP certifies U.S. professionals in the field of urban and regional planning and assists planners in the areas of ethics, professional development, planning education and the standards of planning practice.
The McEachern High School graduate also holds a master’s in public administration and a bachelor’s in political science from Kennesaw State University.
In 2010, Guinn was named as one of Georgia Trend Magazine’s “40 under 40.”
Selected from a field of 55 applicants, Guinn replaces Richard McLeod, who accepted a similar position with the city of Alpharetta in November.
