Dorothy Louise Pinyan Fordham, a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Madison, GA, went to be with Jesus on Friday, February 15th, 2013. One of five daughters of Ralph and Gladys Huggins Pinyan, she was born September 28th, 1928. As a younger adult, Dorothy pursued several interests including basketball, golf, sewing and decorating her home. She also loved dancing. She was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed attending an occasional game. Her career as a dedicated civil servant in Accounting and Finance both at Lockheed Aircraft Corporation and Dobbins Air Force Base spanned more than 30 years. When she retired, she eventually moved to Buckhead, in Morgan County. After her retirement, she enjoyed sharing time and activities with her children and grandchildren, attending her church and Bible study group, and frequent visits to the Morgan County senior center. Dorothy is survived by her sister Martha Pinyan Foster, Hayesville, NC, daughter Penny Rowe, Greenwood, SC; daughter and son-in-law Cindy Michael and Steve, Buckhead, GA; son and daughter-in-law Lee Fordham and Lori, Bloomfield, CT; grandchildren Amy Rowe, Katherine Rowe, Justin Michael, Brandon Fordham and Julie, Shaun Fordham, Cameron Michael, and Ansley Michael, and one great granddaughter, Eden Fordham. A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life was held at Bethany Baptist Church, Sunday, February 17th, 2013 followed by a gathering of family and friends for refreshments and fellowship at the Michael’s home in Buckhead.
