It has come to my attention that Councilman Bob Rush sent out e-mails to residents of Canton that the Fire Station Referendum is endorsed by Mayor Gene Hobgood and all the councilmen.
I think Mr. Rush has put his foot in his mouth. And if he has not inserted his foot then he is very visibly trying to spread misleading information about the referendum.
I believe you will find that Mayor Hobgood and council members only supported holding a referendum but did not necessarily support building new fire stations with bond money.
