The city of Woodstock is gearing up for this year’s Trailfest and has announced the entertainment lineup, which includes several musical acts and a locally known emcee.

The fourth annual event, which was previously called Streetfest, will include a festival and concert Saturday, March 23, and serves as the single largest fundraiser for GreenPrints Alliance, a nonprofit green organization advocating for infrastructure projects and the trail systems in Woodstock.

Held at the Park at City Center, Trailfest’s musical headliners include The Whiskey Gentry and The Kurt Thomas Band.

Serving as the celebrity emcee is Vincent Squire, bartender at Century House Tavern and performer in support roles for television series including “Vampire Diaries” and “Drop Dead Divas.”

The country group Whiskey Gentry was recently chosen by Paste Magazine as the “Best of What’s Next” and shared the stage with artists including Old Crow Medicine Show and Ed Roland of Collective Soul. Lead singer Lauren Staley was also a recent finalist in the Chris Austin Songwriting competition held at MerleFest.

Kurt Thomas, lead singer of the Kurt Thomas Band, is a Dahlonega native and 2008 winner of Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star Contest and winner of CMT’s Music City Madness.

Other musical offerings rounding out the day’s performances are: Cute Boots, Red, White and Blues Band and Jonathan Peyton.

Additionally, presenting sponsor Acru Money + Life is hosting a cash mob at 4 p.m., where Acru will give $20 to 50 participants who will in turn spend the money at local businesses to “mob them with cash.”

Drawing more than 3,000 people each year, Trailfest also features leading regional artists, craft beer and wine tastings, culinary offerings from the Food Coalition, family-oriented activities and raffle prizes.

Festivities will run from 2 to 10 p.m., rain or shine. Admission to Trailfest is free but donations are accepted onsite and online at www.greenprintsalliance.org.
