The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners meets Tuesday at 3 p.m. for a work session and 6 p.m. for its regular meeting.
The work session will include an update on parks and recreation in Cherokee County.
The Cherokee County Resource Recovery Development Authority hasQ been scheduled for 4 p.m., before the Board of Commissioners meeting.
Commission Chairman Buzz Ahrens said the RRDA meeting will be to discuss the goals of the group and the individual roles of the new members added Jan. 1.
The new additions to the board, Tom Ware, Jeff Duncan and Troy Welker, represent a diverse set of personal backgrounds, Ahrens said.
Ware previously was a member of a Cherokee parks and recreation board and is a retired executive with a national housing development firm, Ahrens said.
Duncan has been president of the Cherokee County Republican Party and is employed by a software firm, Ahrens said.
Welker, Ahrens said, owns a business that sells kitchen items to big-box stores.
Two more members will be added by July 1, making the board totally made up of non-elected officials, Ahrens said.
