The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male suspect in a hit-and-run that injured a crossing guard this afternoon.
Lt. Jay Baker with the sheriff’s office said the crossing guard was directing traffic at Liberty Elementary School around 3:45 p.m. when the guard was struck by a silver Honda Prelude.
The car was driven by a white male wearing a black hat, black shirt and sunglasses. The back window of the car has large letters that read “T,” Baker said.
Anyone who has any information about the incident or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911.
The crossing guard was transported to Northside Hospital-Cherokee with non-life threatening injuries.
