Mrs. Alba Hickman Smith, age 98, of Alpharetta, Georgia in Cherokee County died on April 1, 2013 at Cameron Hall in Canton, Georgia. Mrs. Smith was married to Paul Wesley Smith for 62 years until his passing in 1996. Mrs. Smith loved her family and authored four genealogy books on her and her husband’s families. A devout Christian, she was a faithful member of Antioch Christian Church in Canton. She will be remembered for her kindness and love for her family, friends and church family. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shane Ens, in 2006. Survivors include daughter, Alba Gay and Tom McCutcheon of Fresno, California and son, Don and Kathy Smith of Alpharetta, Georgia, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great -great granddaughters. Visitation will be at Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton on Thursday, April 4th from 4pm – 8pm and Friday, April 5th from 10am-11am. Funeral services will be at Sosebee Funeral Home on Friday April 5th at 11am, officiated by Pastor Ken May and Pastor Bruce Still. A private burial will be at Westview Cemetery. The family deeply appreciates the staff at Cameron Hall and Hospice Advantage for the love and excellent care they provided. Also, the family deeply appreciates the love and support of family and friends.
