BOGART, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say vandals used axes to damage a Boy Scout hut behind a church in Oconee County.

Oconee County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Jay Higgins tells the Athens Banner-Herald that there are currently no suspects. He says it appears nothing was stolen, but the structure was damaged and furniture was destroyed.

Authorities say a deputy surveyed the damage with a church deacon and trustee Tuesday. The scout troop is no longer active, so no one had been to the building for about six weeks.

A church spokesman told the newspaper no monetary estimate has been made on the damage.
