A New York prosecutor says a Long Island couple and a Marietta man have been indicted following a six-month investigation.
Detectives bought guns, bulletproof vests and a silencer during meetings at New York hotels and a gas station.
Authorities say the investigation has kept 53 handguns off the streets of New York.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota (SPOH’-tuh) says the defendants are Shawdale Frederick and Janet Lewis of Middle Island, N.Y., and Joshua “Butch” Galbert of Marietta, Ga.
They’ve pleaded not guilty to criminal sale of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
Information on their attorneys was not immediately available.
