It will be another fuel-filled night at Dixie Speedway as makeup races are on the schedule for the second time this season.

There will be a double feature in the Super Late Models, which will include the rescheduled Bill Ingram Memorial, which packs a $3,000 prize.

Track spokeswoman Mia Green expects many of the drivers who turned out for the Bill Ingram Memorial to be back to race the double feature tonight.

Among those expected to attend is Ray Cook, who has quite a history of dirt-track success. Cook, who ran the fastest lap during qualifying to earn the pole last week, was the winner of the 2009 Dixie Shootout.

Other double features include the Crate Late Models and Cruisers. Regularly scheduled races will be held for the Limited Late Models, Econo Bombers, Super Bombers and Pony Stocks.

Although there is a slight chance of rain in the forecast, Green hopes everything will be able to as scheduled. Still, she said track officials are always tracking the weather.

“We always watch the weather,” Green said. “Oddly enough, it seems like it rains on the least chance, and then it won’t rain when it forecasts 90 percent. There is just no way to tell.”

As of Friday night, the National Weather Service forecasted a 20-percent chance of rain tonight in Woodstock.

Fans in attendance last Saturday can get discounted admission tonight. With a grandstand ticket stub, admission is just $7. The regular price of admission is $15 for adults, $6 for ages 9-17 and children 8-and-under are free.

Because of the extra racing, the night will start early. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with racing to begin at 7 p.m.
