From staff reports

The Holly Springs Police Department is accepting applications for its Citizen’s Police Academy program.

The academy program is completed in six sessions. It focuses on teaching residents about law enforcement and how they can get involved, said Jennifer Stanley, Holly Springs special events coordinator.

“(It’s) a wonderful opportunity to peek inside the world of a police officer,” Stanley said.

Within the program, residents see presentations from the Holly Springs Police K9 and bike patrol team and will receive a “historical perspective” on American law enforcement as well as its present state.

Applications from residents interested in taking part must be received by Aug. 23, Stanley said.
