An emergency worker on the scene, Dean Hege said “Both patients were in stable condition and were very lucky to be alive.”
The 22-year-old male driver and 27-year-old male passenger were trapped in the commercial truck when it crashed, and both were transported to North Fulton Hospital, said Tim Cavender, spokesperson for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
Emergency personnel responded to the accident just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. “Both lanes of Sugar Pike Road were blocked until the clean-up operation was complete,” Cavender said.
Cavender said the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the wreck.
