The company, which employs a workforce of 80 at its Univeter Road plant, was honored Tuesday as the PPG Supplier of the Year for 2012.
“Our commitment to quality and customer service has expanded our business worldwide,” says President and CEO Stephen Schoen.
PPG, a Fortune 500 company, buys more than $7 billion worth of goods and services worldwide each year, and they rely on suppliers to be a critical strategic resource in enabling them to meet their present and future requirements, Schoen said in a news release.
Schoen Insulation produces edge attachments for airplane cockpit windows for PPG, and these cockpit windows are then put into Boeing, Airbus and other manufactures’ planes.
The company also produces machined non-metallic parts for other industries including power generation, oil and gas, aerospace and defense, medical, water, electrical and food equipment, Schoen said.
The company is preparing to expand its plant by 10,000 square feet later this year and adding more than $1 million in new equipment, he said.
“Our full line of manufacturing equipment coupled with our highly qualified and professional staff are ready to meet your most complex needs. With our attention to detail, modern plant and equipment, and honed ISO 9001:2008 processes, excellence is guaranteed in all of our products,” the company’s website states.
