Andrae Foster was arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the robbery, said Woodstock Police Department spokeswoman Brittany Duncan.
According to Duncan, investigators were able to identify Foster as the individual responsible for an armed robbery that took place at a Chevron gas station on Dec. 7, 2011.
“With assistance from Georgia State Patrol, Foster was taken into custody (Friday) without incident,” Duncan said in a news release on Friday.
Duncan said the Chevron store clerk reported the armed robbery to police just after it happened.
“Woodstock Police officers met with the store clerk who stated that a black male came into the store at approximately 9:45 p.m. and purchased five lottery tickets,” Duncan explained in the Friday release. “He then remained in the store. At 10:00 p.m., the store clerk told the suspect he was closing, at which time the suspect walked to the counter, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun from his jacket pocket, and demanded that the clerk give him money from the cash register.”
Duncan said the clerk complied with the demands, and the suspect left the store.
Foster is in the custody of the Woodstock Police Department, Duncan said, and will be transported to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
