A missing man last seen in Cherokee County, David Mazurek, 57, of Powder Springs was located Friday in Cobb County and is fine, police said.

Mazurek had not been seen since Sept. 5 when he was spotted walking near the intersection of Highway 92 and Bells Ferry Road, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Baker said Mazurek “possibly suffers from a diminished mental capacity.” “Apparently this is not uncommon for him; this is not the first time he has left for an extended time, but this has been a longer time than usual and family and friends are getting concerned,” Baker said. “It is not unusual for him to leave for a couple of days, but it has now been a week and we are trying to get the word out.”
