CANTON—A head-on collision on Holly Springs Parkway near the Harbor Creek Apartments on Monday left two people injured, officials said.

Emergency personnel arrived about 1 p.m. on the scene of the head-on collision of a red Dodge Ram truck and a Dodge Nitro SUV to find the SUV on its side with a 40-year-old woman trapped inside, said Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Tim Cavender.

“She was quickly extricated and taken to Kennestone Hospital with chest pains,” Cavender said in a news release Monday. “A male backseat passenger in the Ram truck was also taken to Kennestone with a possible broken leg. Both patients appeared to be in stable condition.”

The northbound lane of Holly Springs Parkway was blocked while cleanup was completed, and the cause of the accident is being investigated, Cavender said.
