DEAR EDITOR:

I do not know Jim Rollins or have ever met him. All I have read in the local papers about Rollins has been negative, and I would like to have him tell me and my wonderful Cherokee neighbors more about himself and his intentions in our proud historical community.

First, is he really so callous and greedy and cold-hearted that he would destroy a vibrant historical place in our community just to make money?

Secondly, with all the choices in our big county where he could put his flashing lights and sell gas, why would he choose to destroy something as close to our hearts as the Old Bell’s Store and a labor of love today by Lisa Myer to make this a warm, friendly meeting place we currently call Cherokee Market?

Lastly, in his heart what does he want his personal legacy to be? Surely not the cold-hearted, ruthless greedy man willing to do anything for the almighty dollar.

I hope Rollins will answer my questions for me and my neighbors in Cherokee County. Of course, if he chooses not to, that will be an answer in itself.
